Hello, I’m Attorney Ched Jennings and I focus on Kentucky Workers Comp claims for injured workers.
I’d like to talk to you today about Kentucky workers compensation and the Corona Virus – COVID 19. Early in the Coronavirus epidemic Governor Beshear directed certain essential employees to receive workers comp benefits from day one of their quarantine period.
If you are under quarantine, you are entitled to receive those benefits even though you may not be sick.
This initially applied to first responders such as police, fire fighters, healthcare workers and EMS. During his April 9th (2020) press conference the Governor issued an executive order which directs the payment of workers compensation benefits for additional essential employees during quarantine period.
Who Does Kentucky Workers Comp Benefits for Corona Virus COVID 19 Apply for?
Now, in addition to the first responders, this specifically includes the following workers:
- Child care
- Grocery workers
- Postal service

You’re now entitled the same benefits but this fight isn’t over yet. Rest assured that as an attorney and as an active member of the group working with our State Government officials, we are doing everything we can to assist those who have potentially exposed themselves to the COVID 19 virus.
